2020 Toyota GR Supra Launch Edition, Absolute Zero USA Version - Drive, Interior and Exterior.

The 2020 Supra will feature a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six that will produce 335 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. Torque comes with strong power from very low engine speeds, thanks to a combination of dual turbocharger scrolls, direct fuel injection and variable continuous timing on the camshaft intake and exhaust. Engine response is further enhanced thanks to the variable inline six valve inlet lift system that adjusts the time and duration of the inlet valve.

The 8-speed automatic transmission results in fast up and down gearshift and paddle shifters feature for manual control if desired. Short ratios for lower gears and Launch Control functions, which are not intended to be used on public roads or for repeated use of short intervals, allowing strong acceleration with maximum traction. Toyota estimates acceleration from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds, which makes it the fastest Toyota branded production vehicle to date. The top speed of the track is electronically limited to 155 mph.
2020 Supra offers two driving modes, Normal and Sports. The Sport Mode sharpens the throttle response, increases steering weight, increases the crispness of transmission shifts, more aggressive active differential adjustments, and amplified exhaust sound.

Traction mode is part of the Vehicle Stability Control System and when selected provides the ability to drive tracks by reducing intervention control traction and stability functions. Launch Control is available when the vehicle is in Sport and Traction mode.

For fans of driving performance, the Supra will have an active differential that uses an electric motor and multiplate coupling to control lateral torque. Active differential precisely controls the torque distribution between the rear wheels, with stepless variable locking from 0-100 percent. Differentials can control the torque distribution between the rear wheels when cornering under acceleration and braking, allowing greater momentum through corners.

The Supra design presents a weight balance of 50:50 while optimizing the aerodynamic balance from front to back. The legacy of Toyota sports cars is evident throughout. The design of the double-bubble roof, for example, reminds Toyota 2000 GT and reduces obstacles by shaving the center of the roof to reduce the projected front area without sacrificing occupants headroom.

The front fascia is inspired by the fourth generation Supra, but is even more expressive, with a prominent middle grille flanked by large air intakes. At the rear, a prominent rear curved integrated spoiler, which helps press the aerodynamic lift, gives respect to the high rear wing available on the fourth generation Supra Turbo. The shape of the trapezoidal rear bumper conveys a sense of dynamic moving towards the tire.

The six-lens LED headlamps combine the daytime running lights and the signal function turns to make a typical lighting signature for the new Supra. The rear combination lights feature an intentional structure with turn, tail and stop functions that are integrated into the shape of a distinctive main ring. The backup light has a white LED located in the center of the lower bumper.

Two classes available on the Supra 2020 - 3.0 and 3.0 Premium - display the same powertrain, with the differences highlighted in the interior.

Class 3.0 has a 6.5-inch screen with Bluetooth and iPod capabilities, and Alcantara seats. JBL Navigation and Audio will be the available option.

3.0 Premium grade features an 8.8-inch wide-format touch screen display enhanced with Navigation, Supra Connect telematics service, supports Apple CarPlay wireless, premium JBL 12-speaker audio system, wireless telephone charging and colored Head-Up Display. Class 3.0 Premium will also feature heated and heated leather seats.

The Supra Launch Edition is based on Class 3.0 Premium.

Both classes are equipped with a balance of functions and premium comfort and convenience features. Keyless Smart Entry, automatic dual climate control, automatic dimming mirrors, rear camera, rain sensor glass wipers, garage door openers, power folding mirrors, and leather wrapped steering wheels are standard.

Standard safety features on both inclines, as well as the Launch Edition, including forward collision warnings, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, departure track alerts with the help of automatic steering and high beams.

The Driver Assist package brings additional features that will be optional in both classes. It includes full speed adaptive cruise control, a blind spot monitor, warning cross-back traffic and parking sonar.
