This is one of the available headlight switches for your vehicle. If your vehicle is equipped with a different headlight switch, see your Owner’s Manual for additional information.
The LED daytime running lights remain on unless the engine is off, regardless of the light switch position.
Turning the switch to this first position turns on ONLY the left side parking lights if the ignition is off. The next position turns on ONLY the right side parking lights if the ignition is off.
With the ignition on, this third position turns on the side lights, and license plate lighting Turning the switch to the next spot turns on the automatic headlights. The automatic headlights allow you to preset the headlights to automatically operate based on exterior lighting conditions. To turn the automatic headlights OFF, turn the headlight switch to a different setting. The automatic headlights will remain ON for a period of time after you turn the ignition switch OFF.
Turn the switch to this position to manually turn on the headlights, parking lights, side marker lights, tail lights, license plate light and instrument panel lights.
Pushing this lever forward turns ON the high beam headlights. You’ll see a blue indicator light illuminate. Pull it back toward you to return to low beam. The blue indicator light will turn off. To make your high beam headlights flash ON and OFF, pull the lever toward you and release it.
Fog lights create a wide beam pattern, focused lower than the headlights. This minimizes reflected light and helps you see better in foggy conditions. To use the fog lights, if so equipped, your headlights must be ON and low beam selected. Push this button and your front fog lights will come ON.
This button turns the rear fog light on.
The Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) will automatically adjust the low beam headlights toward the turning direction to improve the driver’s view. AFS will also adjust the headlight to a proper axis automatically, depending on the number of occupants in the vehicle, the load the vehicle is carrying and the road conditions.
When the headlight switch is ON and the driver operates the steering wheel in a turn, the AFS system will be activated.
The AFS will operate:
● when the headlight switch is ON, and
● when the shift lever is in any position other than Park or Reverse.
To enable or disable the AFS:
● Press the right or left arrow button until SETTINGS is displayed and press the OK button.
● Now, press the up or down arrow button to select LIGHT and press the OK button.
● Then, press the right or left arrow button to select Adaptive Front Lighting System and press the OK button.
● Adjust the AFS functions and press the OK button.
If the AFS OFF indicator light blinks after the ignition switch has been placed in the ON position, this may indicate that the AFS is not functioning properly. Have the system checked. It is recommended you visit an INFINITI retailer for service.
If so equipped, the high beam assist function automatically switches the headlights from the high beam to the low beam setting when an oncoming or leading vehicle appears in front of your vehicle.
Turn the light switch to AUTO and press the combination switch beyond the pressure point in this direction to activate the high beam assist.
When activated, the high beam assist indicator light illuminates on the instrument panel. The system is activated at speeds above approximately 28 miles per hour when the headlight switch is in the AUTO position.
Move this switch back to its normal position to deactivate the high beam assist. The indicator light turns off.
The ambient light sensor used by the high beam assist function is located on the front of the rearview mirror. To ensure proper function of the system, keep the windshield clean and do not attach stickers or other such materials near the ambient light sensor.
